Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information FDN handles, how it supports the product and editorial process, and the choices available to people who interact with the network.
Effective date: August 25, 2026
About this policy
Founder Discovery Network (“FDN”) is operated by In Your Words Productions, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company based in Berkeley, California. This policy applies to information handled through FDN.
Information we handle
You may provide information such as your name, email address, company, role or title, company or program website, accelerator or program information, and information used in founder claiming and onboarding. Founders and participating organizations may also provide profile, interview, media, company, or program information for review.
Contact Founder requests can include your identity, organization, reason for reaching out, and a message intended for FDN review and introduction handling. Founder Profile requests can include your name, company, work email, website, LinkedIn, accelerator or qualifying program, cohort, supporting context, and referral source for private eligibility review and follow-up. The former Founder Membership waitlist and the Accelerator Partnership inquiry form are disabled and do not collect, submit, or store information.
Account information
FDN uses authenticated accounts to support sign-in, profile claims, Founder Workspace access, Accelerator Hub access, Operations access, and other permissioned experiences. Authentication records may include your email address, authentication-provider identifiers, session information, and the access records needed to determine which FDN areas you may use.
Private submissions and published information
Information submitted privately to FDN is not automatically public. FDN may review submitted information to evaluate a profile claim, participation request, contact request, company development, or other editorial matter.
Information intentionally published in a Founder Brief, Company Brief, Accelerator Profile, Signal, Investigation, interview, or other public editorial surface can be accessed by visitors to FDN. Publication occurs through FDN's established review and publication workflows; a submission alone does not guarantee publication.
How we use information
- Operate, secure, maintain, and improve FDN.
- Authenticate users and apply the appropriate access permissions.
- Review founder-profile claims and maintain founder, company, accelerator, cohort, and media relationships.
- Provide requested contact, participation, scheduling, and account-related functionality.
- Review information for potential editorial use and communicate about FDN participation.
- Detect misuse and protect the integrity of FDN and its users.
Editorial information
Founders, companies, accelerators, and other participants may provide information or developments for editorial review. Submission does not guarantee verification, classification, publication, placement, distribution, or continued availability. FDN retains editorial discretion over its discovery and editorial surfaces.
Service providers
FDN uses service providers to support functions such as application hosting and infrastructure, authentication and database services, secure media hosting and delivery, interview scheduling, and other operational services required to provide FDN. These providers may process limited information as needed to perform services for FDN and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
How information may be shared
FDN may share information with service providers that help operate the product, when you request or authorize a contact or participation workflow, when information is intentionally published, or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or prevent misuse. FDN does not sell personal information.
Retention and security
FDN retains information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain editorial and audit records, fulfill the purpose for which information was provided, resolve disputes, protect the service, and meet applicable obligations. Retention can vary by record and workflow.
FDN uses technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the current service. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
Available FDN workflows may let an authorized founder manage relevant profile information or request changes through FDN. You may also contact FDN to request access where appropriate, ask us to correct or delete applicable personal information, or ask questions about private information and intentionally published profile information. Requests remain subject to legitimate editorial, security, recordkeeping, and legal needs.
Children and policy changes
FDN is intended for professional and startup-ecosystem use and is not directed to children.
FDN may update this policy as the service evolves. The effective date will identify the current version.
